What is Verity?
Verity is an online exam proctoring service that is built right into eLearn. You will install a Google Chrome extension that allows Verity to use your computer's web cam and microphone to ensure fair testing is done remotely. Quizzes with Verity enabled must be taken using the Verity Google Chrome Extension.
How to take an eLearn quiz using Verity
To take a quiz using Verity you need to have a computer with the Chrome Browser, a computer camera/web cam, a microphone, and your state or school ID.
- Open a Chrome browser and navigate to your eLearn course.
- On the Evaluation tab click Verity Proctoring.
- When you get to the main page, you will need to navigate to the icon in the top right corner, and click on it.
- Hover over the User setup option, and click on the browser extension.
- Once there, you will be prompted to download the extension.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* Each time you log into elearn are going to take a Verity Quiz/Test, you have to go to Verity under the evaluations tab to authenticate with Verity to be able to take your quiz in Elearn.

Some instructors and quizzes may require you to complete a room scan using your web cam. If you are unwilling to participate in a room scan, please contact your instructor. As an alternate option, you can sign up to take your exam in a Vol State Testing Center located on each campus.

Step 1- Contact Verity Support
Your instructor is not likely to be able to help you access your assessment. You need to reach out to Verity support for assistance. Verity support is available 24/7. If you encounter any issues, reach out to their support team:
Step 2- Document Your Issue with eLearn Support
If you don’t get your issue resolved with Verity Support, please report to Vol State’s eLearn department. You will need to provide specific details about your issues.

Step 3 – Send Your Instructor an Email Message
Let your instructor know you had issues with the Verity test. Explain that you contacted Verity support and filled out the Report an Unresolved Verity Support Issue form.
