Vol State Emergency Text Alerts

Information regarding the Vol State Emergency Text Alert system, including how to opt-in or opt-out. (WCAG 2.1 AA = 100%)

Students

The Vol State Emergency Text Alerts service will text you with information regarding emergencies and important notices, including weather closings and delays, building evacuations, and dangers requiring lockdown or shelter-in-place.

All registered students are automatically signed up for these alerts.

To Opt-Out:
If you do not wish to receive these text alerts, you can opt-out by texting the word "STOP" to any text alert sent by the college.

To Reverse an Opt-Out:
If you change your mind and would like to start receiving alerts, text "START" to 67283 to opt back in.

You can update your primary mobile phone number by going to the "Student Information Website" app in the My Vol State Portal. Once you access the "Student Information Website" you can "Update Address & Phone" from the Personal Information section.

Please make sure that the phone number under "Update Address & Phone" is the cell phone number that you wish to receive texts.

New Employees

You will have initially received an email from the Rave Wireless Attendant with a link to the "Rave Website" along with your username and temporary password. Once you log in, you will need to create a new password.

All Employees

Vol State employees can continue to access and update their Rave account by going directly to the "Rave Website".

If you are unable to verify your Rave verification code by the cell phone # on file, then you will need to continue to:

• Enter your "Username", "Password", and select "Log In" on the "Rave Website".

• Select the active link to have Rave "Resend it to you".

• Select the drop down triangle and choose your active email account.

Upon successful login you can access "My Account" to:

• Change your password
• Confirm, change, add or test your mobile phone numbers.
• Confirm, change, add or test your voice only line contacts.
• Confirm, change, add or test your email.

Upon successful login you can access"Opt-In Lists" to:

• Subscribe to your choice of Cookeville, Gallatin, Livingston, and Springfield employee alerts.
• Subscribe to your choice of Cookeville, Gallatin, Livingston, and Springfield weather alerts.
