Self-Service Banner 9 Faculty/Advisor Module

The Self-Service Banner 9 Faculty/Advisor Module is the latest in a group of modules to be made available to Faculty and Advisor personnel for active and regular use instead of the Self-Service Banner 8 Faculty tab that is currently being used by most employees. This new module can be found in the Classlink Self-Service Banner 9 PRO… (PRO stands for PRODUCTION) below:

An image of the Self-Service Banner 9 PROD folder in the Portal.

Upon opening that folder, you will see one (or more) icons depending on your role or access to modules.

Who can see what????

All employees should have access to the Employee and General Self-Service Banner modules. The Employee module is the place where you enter your daily time and/or leave amounts. The General module is the place where you can see general information about your biographical and demographic information and view your direct deposit allocations. Future module releases may contain possible action items to be taken. Tiles may or may not be present depending on one’s particular data.

The Faculty/Advisor Self-Service module is functional for those employees who are full-time Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, or Advisors. This module will allow those persons to view class information and students who are enrolled in those classes or students whom they advise.

The Finance Self-Service module is available to those who have the need to review departmental budget information.

The Student Registration Self-Service module is not fully functional as of this date. It will be released to Students later in the fall. Parts of the module can be accessed by staff but not all components of the module are activated in production.

The Student Self-Service module will display to staff at this date, and some options will only be functional if you are a current/former student or an advisor. This module will be released to our student population later in the fall.

As a reminder, Ellucian support will end for Self-Service Banner 8 by December 31, 2025, and we must be on Self-Service Banner 9 for all modules by that time. All new regulatory releases will be in SSB9 in the future, so it is in our best interest to become as familiar with the new interface. Please remember that we will be making improvements to the modules as time goes on so be aware that there will be changes to these new releases as Elllucian continues to evolve the product and as we plug in “missing holes”.

Knowledge Base articles will be written to reflect changes in procedures and instructions from SSB8 to SSB9 in the future as the modules become more stable and available.
