How can I change my MFA Settings?

Summary

Directions on how to change the default authentication method or how to add a new authentication method after your initial MFA configuration.

Body

For security reasons, starting on October 2, 2026, SMS (text messages) and voice-calls will no longer be permitted as options for usable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) within the Vol State environment. This is in preparation of Microsoft retiring its own SMS and voice-call MFA delivery on February 1, 2027.

The Microsoft Authenticator app is recommended as the modern alternative for authentication.
