Understanding Accessibility Reports
Once Panorama has finished scanning the documents in your course, the Accessibility Reports will be displayed as colorful gauges with official scores to your documents. You can access Panorama accessibility scores using two methods.
Method 1: View an Accessibility Score for Individual Course Pages and Files
Within the Table of Contents, next to the title of an individual course page or document file, you will see a color-coded accessibility score from Panorama. Red scores indicate severe accessibility issues, yellow scores indicate major accessibility issues, and green scores indicate minor accessibility issues.
- For a more detailed breakdown of the accessibility score, click on the color-coded Panorama icon to open the full Accessibility Report.

- Hover over the words Accessibility Report. Clicking the word View will allow the content owner to scroll through the summary of issues. The Review Issues section will summarize all missing accessibility components from missing page numbers, missing titles, or issues with color contrasts.
- Every issue found will include a summary of how to resolve the matter under the How to Fix drop-down menu.
All course pages and files need to be at 100% to meet the accessibility mandate.
Method 2: View an Accessibility Course Report
Another way you can access accessibility scores is to view a Course Report using Panorama in eLearn. Click on Course Tools in the Nav bar in eLearn and then choose Accessibility Report - Panorama. Once there, you can view an Overall Accessibility Score for your course. Use the tabs in the middle of the screen to learn more about the accessibility of your course.
The Accessibility Score tab provides a graph of your course's cumulative monthly accessibility score. The Document Type tab provides information regarding the number of documents processed by Panorama and alternative formats downloaded by students. The Files & Issues tab lists all of your course files and pages, their individual accessibility scores, and any potential accessibility issues within your course.
Once on the Files & Issues tab, you can click on the color-coded meter icons for quick access to accessibility errors which need to be remedied.

Panorama FAQs
Once you have read through the Accessibility Report, the content owner can go through and fix the highlighted issues directly on your document. Once all of the improvements have been made, the content owner can drag and drop their corrected document into the Accessibility Report window under the Upload Improved Version section.
How do I get Panorama to display the most accurate current score?
Start by going to your course and opening each module. You don’t need to open each submodule or page, but you should expand every module. Then, follow the steps listed below.
- Go to Course Tools in the Nav bar, click on Accessibility Report-Panorama.
- Click on the Configuration icon
on the left side of the screen.
- Choose General Settings from the dropdown list.
- Click the Reprocess Course button. Now wait at least an hour or several hours to allow all course materials to be reprocessed.
*If you check back, after waiting at least an hour after reprocessing, and your score hasn't changed, click the Refresh button at the top of the Course Report.
I deleted a file in eLearn, but it keeps showing up in my Panorama Report. How can I fix this?
For Multiple Documents - Reprocess the course following the steps listed in the answer above. After reprocessing the course, the deleted file should no longer show up in your Panorama Report.
For a Single Document - Use the Reprocess link in the Source File section fo the Panorama report. It will reprocess and turn grey. The document remains on the report until you leave the report and then return to it. When you return, the deleted document should be removed from the report.
I made fixes to my materials today, so why has my overall score not changed?
The course “Overall Accessibility Score” gets updated overnight. Check back tomorrow to see the overall impact on your course score. Or, once an hour you can use the “Refresh” button at the top of the Course Report, and the percentage will be updated.
What's the difference between Reprocess and Refresh in Panorama?
The Reprocess course button tells Panorama to rescan everything in your course again. This takes at least an hour to fully complete. When you reprocess your course, you do not lose any content in your course. If you've deleted a file in eLearn, but it keeps showing up in the Panorama report, a Reprocess is recommended. The Refresh button, located at the top of the Course Report, refreshes your overall accessibility percentage. If you make changes during the day and want to see the percentage change, click Refresh. Panorama automatically refreshes scores each night.
The overall Panorama score I see says 100% but the report emailed to me says the course is not at 100%. Why?
The course “Overall Accessibility Score” is a rounded number. If your course is 99.5% or better, it will display as 100% inside eLearn. The YuJa Panorama Course Accessibility Score shown on the course's homepage is not a rounded number and should match the number emailed to you. Even if you see a 100% Overall Accessibility Score in Panorama, it is best to go to the “Files and Issues” tab and look at the files. Then, fix any file that is less than 100%. It may also be helpful to follow the steps above to make sure you have the most accurate current score.
I fixed my materials, then when I copied the course to another shell (or reprocessed the course in Panorama), the materials are not fully accessible. What happened?
Some Panorama fixes are not durable, so they don’t “stick” when the file is copied or reprocessed. Here are some best practices that will help minimize this issue:
- Whenever possible, fix the issue in the source document.
- For Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and Excel, this will mean downloading, fixing, and uploading the document, but it saves issues in the future.
- For Course Pages, go to the page in content and fix the issues in page edit mode rather than using the Panorama tool from the course report area.
- If you use the Panorama tool to fix a file directly in eLearn, be sure to download the updated source file and replace the existing document in eLearn.

- Any manual overrides in Panorama are lost when the file is reprocessed. Manual overrides will need to be re-applied after the copy/reprocessing. Changing the original file so that manual overrides are not needed is the best long-term solution. Please reach out to the Office of Distance Learning if you need assistance with changing PPT slides so that they don’t flag the reading order. For example, the checkboxes listed below always reset to unchecked when the material is copied or reprocessed:
- Using the checkbox to confirm that you’ve checked a slide’s reading order.
- Using the checkbox to confirm that a hyperlink is descriptive.
- Using the checkbox to confirm that a YouTube video has captions available.
