How to Clear the Cookies and Cache on a Windows PC

Chrome

  1. Go to Settings and select ClearBrowserData in Chrome.
  • You can also get to this page by pressing "Ctrl, Shift and Delete" at the same time on your keyboard, while Chrome is open.
  • You can also click the "Kebab Button" ( ⋮ ) in the top-right to open the "Customize and control Google Chrome" pane, then select "Settings" > "Privacy and security" > "Delete browsing data."
  1. A prompt appears showing the user what data can be deleted.

  1. Stay in the "Basic" tab.
  • Set "Time range" to "All time".
  • Ensure "Browsing history", "Cookies and other site data"and "Cached images and files" are checked.
  • Select "Delete data".

NOTE: Depending on how many files have been stored, it may take a minute to clear.

  1. Once Done 
  • Close Chrome
  • Rre-launch Chrome

Firefox

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Press "Ctrl, Shift and Delete" on your keyboard at the same time.
  • A prompt appears showing the user what data can be deleted.

NOTE: You can get to this page by clicking the "Hamburger Button" ( ☰ ) in the top-right to open the "Application menu" pane, select "Settings", select "Privacy & Security", Scroll down to "Cookies and Site Data", and select "Clear."

  1. Set "When" to "Everything."
  • Check mark "History", "Cookies and site data", and "Temporary cached files and pages".
  • Select "Clear".

NOTE: Depending on how many files have been stored, it may take a minute to clear.

  1. Once Done
  • Close Firefox.
  • Re-launch Firefox.

Microsoft Edge

Edge is similar to Chrome as it is based on Chromium. 

  1. Go to Settings and select ClearBrowserData in Edge.
  • You can also get to this page by pressing "Ctrl, Shift and Delete" at the same time on your keyboard, while Edge is open.
  • You can also click the "Kebab Button" ( ⋮ ) in the top-right to open the "Settings and more" pane, select "Settings", select "Privacy, search, and services", select "Delete browsing data",  and select "Choose what to clear" in the top-right.
  • From the "Customize and control Google Chrome" pane select "Settings", "Privacy and security", and "Delete browsing data".
  1. A prompt appears showing the user what data can be deleted.

  1. Set "Time range" to "All time."
    • Check mark "Browsing history", "Download history", "Cookies and other site data", and "Cached images and files".
    • Select "Clear now."

NOTE: Depending on how many files have been stored, it may take a minute to clear.

  1. Once Done
  • Close Edge
  • Re-launch Edge.
