Office is Microsoft’s productivity suite which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher*, Access*, OneNote and Skype for Business. The suite is pre-installed on all campus-owned computers. Current Vol State faculty and staff can also purchase Windows for a substantial discount through On The Hub.

Adobe Acrobat is a family of application software and Web services developed by Adobe Systems to view, create, manipulate, print and manage files in Portable Document Format (PDF). Our contract license for Creative Cloud includes the applications only, and does NOT include the data storage component of Creative Cloud. This means that you must save your work to a local, network or removable drive.

MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. A proprietary programming language developed by MathWorks, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, Java, Fortran and Python.
