How to: Search the Knowledge Base

Summary

Vol State IT is currently in the process of building technology-related Knowledge Base articles into our new IT Service Portal powered by TeamDynamix. This process will be ongoing and we encourage feedback on our articles. There are three ways to search for Knowledge Base Articles; search the Client Portal (site-wide), search the Knowledge Base only or look through the Knowledge Base Catalog.


How to: Search the Client Portal

  1. In TeamDynamix, click in the search the client portal in the top right of the page by Sign In

  2. Type what you are searching for in the field and select the magnifying glass or hit Enter

  3. Here you will see your search results and any Service or Knowledge Base Article that best matches your search


How to: Search the Knowledge Base Only

  1. In TeamDynamix, click on Knowledge Base in the blue ribbon
     
  2. Once Knowledge Base is selected, Search will now appear below it in the gray ribbon

  3. Click on Search and type what you want to search in the Search field and select Enter. You may also specifically search a Category

  4. Here you will see your search results


How to: Search the Knowledge Base Catalog

  1. In TeamDynamix, click on Knowledge Base in the blue ribbon

  1. Like the Service Catalog, the Knowledge Base is grouped into Categories and their related Articles

  2. Locate and click the Category that is most relevant to your question
     
  3. Click on the Article that best matches your question

  4. You will be taken to that Article's page where you will be given an in-depth explanation of that topic and any related Knowledge Base Articles
